General Director of JSC "Octopus" Dmitry Ponomarenko took part in the The Society of Exploration Geophysicists 2018 International Exposition and 88th Annual Meeting in Anaheim, California.

The General Director of JSC "Octopus "was awarded the prize of PJSC "Gazprom" as a participant in the development of the best research work in the field of science and technology for 2018. The work was carried out by the experts of OOO "Gazprom VNIIGAZ".

In the July issue of the magazine "Latin America" was published an article by the General Director of JSC "Octopus" Dmitry Ponomarenko. Title of the article is " Strategy Stayer: prospects Of Russian-Mexican cooperation in the oil and gas sector."

The representatives of 3 engineering companies Octopus, Gradient Technology and Fidesys met in Skolkovo Foundation offices. The participants of the meeting discussed possibility of calculationsfor effective properties of rockformations, detected some issues and defined plausible touch points of cooperation.

Experts of Octopus held a meeting in Moscow with representatives of oil company Pacif Petrol (Ecuador). The results obtained had allowed defining zones which had abnormal properties for diffraction, associated with decompression zones of rock formations. Based on analysis outputs Russian experts recommended Ecuador partners to seriously amend drill plan of 7 exploratory wells on Santa Elena Peninsula.

Geophysics of "Octopus" have published a paper "Geological and geophysical characteristics of the Lower Permian Kungurian deposits of the Astrakhan arch" in international journal "Neftegas Internatinal".

JSC "Octopus" sponsored the International Conference "Control Theory, Integral Geometry, Inverse Problems".

From May 15 to 19, the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) together with the Kazan Federal University hosted the Second Research and Practical Conference "Horizontal Wells 2017. Problems and Prospects".

In the last days of April, the delegation of Skolkovo Foundation brought innovative projects of Russian oil companies to Latin America. The mission was launched in Mexico City. Following Mexico, the mission continued in another oil-producing country in the region - Ecuador. In Ecuador, negotiations were held in Petroamazonas- the state oil and gas company. Also, contacts were established with independent Ecuadorian oil producers and a number of local and transnational oilfield service companies.

The employees of "Octopus" JSCand the partner firm "Galian Services" LLC took part in the forum "StartUpTour-2017", organized by Skolkovo Foundation. The forum was held in Astrakhan from 25 to 26 April. More than 150 representatives of scientific teams and innovative groups took part in its work.
